I meet with some guys on Saturday mornings for coffee, and to discuss our current read. Right now it’s In My Place Condemned He Stood: Celebrating the Glory of the Atonement, by Packer and Dever, but we’re almost done. We’ve been tossing around the idea of two books to read next. Either The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism, by Tim Keller, or Surprised By Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church, by N.T. Wright. If you’ve read either, or have any other suggestions, let me know! Watch Tom Wright discuss his book on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report.
Speaking of books to read (or not to read)…check out the review below by Tim Challies on William P. Young’s The Shack, a national bestseller, a book that is making/already made its way into Christian circles, and one with some dangerous implications for the Christian’s understanding of the Trinity, salvation, and the nature of God.
